By: Lisa Osen. This is a parking spot for 'movies to see.'A 'Greek Design' formatted specifically for multi-sized e-readers, the categories are 'Movies to See' parking lots Naught to Nine (with spots A to Z). The advantage of having a published document where you can park notes is that it's easy to find and the information is stored in your {My Clippings} file - a file which can be backed up regularly on your computer or simply synced with the document if it's on your computer. Beware: when you insert notes, you MUST make sure you save them and they are easy to delete and easy to overwrite (but great to have!). When you enter them, remember that the note number will most often show up AFTER the word/symbol. YOU want to put your cursor BEFORE (or highlight over) the word/symbol and MAKE SURE that no other note is BEHIND the word/symbol. It's possible to overwrite a note you don't see on the bottom or side of the screen if you don't pay attention to how they get stored. My thanks and yours should go to a Liam Quin (fromoldbooks(org)) for inspiring the design. Book Title: Movies to See* (Notes) ... (a Greek Design). Author: Lisa Osen. Publisher: AeviVision(TM). By: John Clemens, Melora Wolff. "A tasty confection that is both fun to read and though-provoking. Clemens and Wolff have crafted and engaging book that illustrates the entire gamut of good and bad leadership behavior. I recommend it especially to young managers who are growing into or aspiring to leadership roles." -- George R. Stephan, Former Chairman Kollmorger Corporation "Readers of this book should be allowed to go to the movies on company time. The flicks take on a whole new meaning." -- Roy Rowan, Author of The Intuitive Manager Movies do more than just entertain. A good film can also teach. Charles Foster Kane, the tragic protagonist of Citizen Kane, is the perfect example of how hoarding power can lead to chaos in business and personal matters. Dead Poet Society's John Keating is the archetype of the employee who has affected change downward but has not solicited the support of superiors who may later stonewall other projects. And Norma Rae (in the movie of the same name), a seemingly powerless factory worker, shakes up the plant's male-dominated management and becomes the company's most influential leader. In this entertaining and instructive book, you will discover that film is indeed an untapped source of leadership wisdom for businesses, large and small. You will see your own organization--as well as your own management and leadership challenges--mirrored here in the examination and analysis of nine compelling and highly accessible film narratives. John K. Clemens, professor of management at Hartwick College, is the founder and executive director of the Hartwick Humanities in Management Institute, an organization that conducts leadership seminars for emerging leaders in Fortune 500 companies. He is also the coauthor of The Classic Touch: Lessons in Leadership from Homer to Hemingway. Melora Wolff is an essayist, poet, and playwright who teaches workshops and seminars in film, literature, and creative writing. She is the writing consultant for the Hartwick Humanities in Management Institute.Book Title: Movies to Manage By. Author: John Clemens, Melora Wolff. Publisher: McGraw-Hill. Published: 1999-10-11. By: Matt Ivester. The ease with which digital content can be shared online, in addition to its many benefits, has created a host of problems for today’s high school and college students. All too often, students are uploading, updating, posting and publishing without giving a second thought to who might see their content or how it might be perceived. lol…OMG! provides a cautionary look at the many ways that today’s students are experiencing the unanticipated negative consequences of their digital decisions – from lost job opportunities and denied college and graduate school admissions to full-blown national scandals. It also examines how technology is allowing students to bully one another in new and disturbing ways, and why students are often crueler online than in person. By using real-life case studies and offering actionable strategies and best practices, this book empowers students to clean up and maintain a positive online presence, and to become responsible digital citizens. “Matt Ivester’s book, lol…OMG!, is a “must read” for every college student, every high school student and the parents of each. Leveraging his insider experience from his now-closed website JuicyCampus.com, he offers common sense methods that all of us need to know to protect us from the malicious gossip, mean-spirited rumors and sharing of personal information which now seems epidemic on the Internet." "In this era of digital citizenship, the information employers find online can have a significant impact on your success in the hiring process. Read this book and take control of that information!” “Digital citizenship is an essential part of a modern education. The digital age has provided students with a host of new challenges, and we have an obligation to help them address those challenges. lol…OMG! is an important and valuable educational resource for students struggling to stay true to their own ethical principles while still keeping up with the quickly evolving digital landscape.” “A much-needed introduction to the realities, risks and rewards that college students face when they construct online identities.
